The couple moved to Los Angeles with their three sons in 2007, when David signed to team Los Angeles Galaxy. They love the laidback way of life in the city, and have embraced it with gusto. Victoria is a particular fan of how optimistic and encouraging people in Los Angeles are, and has tried to become more like that herself.
“We both like crystals, as in crystal energy; I have lots of pink quartz and black tourmaline in my bathroom,” she explained. “It’s quite spiritual out here; all very positive.”
“We’ve both been into that since moving to LA,” David added in the joint interview with British magazine InStyle.
David and Victoria have separate bathrooms at their home, which pleases Victoria as it means she can be as messy as she likes. David is renowned for his tidiness and likes everything in its place, so he’s glad they have separate spaces as it means he doesn’t have to see his wife’s chaos.
“She always leaves her drawers open,” he complained. “You leave the toothpaste top off too. It’s kind of her mess, though. It’s her bathroom. It’s not down to me.”
While David likes his room to be calm and clutter free, Victoria loves showing off all her products. She gets sent a lot of creams and lotions for free, which she loves. The singer-turned-fashion-designer is continually amazed that people have enough time to parcel her up products.
“I’m never going to be blasé about that. I really appreciate that someone has gone to the effort to send me things,” she explained.
