The Hollywood star filed for divorce from her basketball player husband Tony Parker last week, reportedly after discovering he had been texting a mutual female friend for over a year. Tony insisted he knew Eva was planning to start the legal proceedings, and later lodged his own documents in which he claimed the marriage had become untenable due to their “conflict of personalities”.
Eva is said to be devastated by the split, and has been leaning on her close friend Victoria for support. The pair have become good friends since Victoria and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2007.
“Eva called Victoria immediately. She was calling her at all times of the day and night before filing for divorce. Victoria was a tower of strength,” a source told Look magazine. “Victoria told her to concentrate on what she wanted for the future and decide if she could ever trust Tony again. When Eva realised she could never forgive him, she knew the marriage was over.”
Victoria has previously battled her own marriage hardships, after David was accused of having an affair with his personal assistant in 2004. He denied all the reports.
The former Spice Girl is doing all she can to help Eva through her tough time, and has even asked her to come and live with her.
“Victoria invited Eva to come and stay in her LA mansion while the divorce is being settled,” the source added. “Eva is so grateful to Victoria, she’s been her rock during this agonising time.”
