When Motley Crue's Vince Neil isn't busy getting in trouble with the law, he gives back with his annual Off-the-Strip Poker Tournament in Las Vegas. The sixth edition of the contest has been set for Sunday, November 7th at the Rio.
All proceeds from the tournaments go to the Skylar Neil Foundation. Skylar was Neil's daughter who passed away from an aggressive cancer. The Foundation exists to "grant and award the money raised to medical, research, and educational institutions/groups/individuals who are doing breakthrough work to find cures for cancer, AIDS, and other diseases."
The tournament will award $50,000 in cash and prizes, including a seat at the 2011 World Series of Poker main event. Buy-in is $500 with a $50 registration fee and is limited to 200 seats. Re-buys will also be offered to benefit the charity.
While names haven't yet been announced, past tournaments have been full of rockers and poker greats including Johnny Chan, Phil Gordon, Jennifer Harman, Layne Flack, Jennifer Tilley, Gavin Smith, David Williams, Evelyn Ng, Todd Brunson, Chip and Karina Jett, Andy Block, Lee Watkinson, Liz Lieu, Marc Traniello, Hoyt Corkins, Tom McEvoy, Kathy Leibert and many more.
