Following their recorded contribution to the "Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honouring 50 Years of Amnesty International" album released last week worldwide, Amnesty International have released a video of Brooklyn's We Are Augustines in session playing a heartfelt version of Bob Dylan's classic track 'Mama...You Been On My Mind'.
Speaking about their involvement and song choice, bass player Eric Sanderson from the band says, "When the opportunity came to be a part of the compilation, this one came out as a natural choice. It was a challenge but also something meaningful."
The 3-piece are included alongside over 80 well known music artists such as Pete Townshend, Patti Smith, Sting, Queens of the Stoneage, My Morning Jacket, Bryan Ferry, Lenny Kravitz, Ke$ha, Elvis Costello and many more.
Billy McCarthy says: "This means is a huge deal to the band, please join us in supporting Amnesty International and their tireless efforts for human rights around the world."
All of the proceeds will go towards helping Amnesty International USA fight against censorship and attacks on free speech.
We Are Augustines' much anticipated debut album Rise Ye Sunken Ships will be released March 5th 2012 on Oxcart Records and single 'Chapel Song' on 27th February via Oxcart Records. Visit www.weareaugustines.com for more details.
