Brooklyn's We Are Augustines had to ditch their tour bus on route to their BBC Introducing show in Oxford's O2 Academy venue this afternoon due to a vehicle fire.
Thankfully nobody was hurt in the incident. Smoke and flames bellowed out of the back of the bus after being pulled over by an alert Police officer in the area. The van, band and all of their gear had to be ditched on the roadside.
The showwent ahead and the band are in good spirits. Speaking just after the incident singer Billy McCarthy said:
"One minute we were having a great time on the way to the venue, and then the cops pulled us over and said: "Your bloody van is smoking!" It was indeed, it was actually on fire! So we had to ditch the van and wait for transport out here on the road side, but we are all fine. Luckily none of the gear was torched and looking forward to playing our first show in Oxford."
