Seattle based trio Augustines (formerly We Are Augustines) have announced the release of their new single "Nothing to Lose but Your Head" scheduled for release on Caroline Records UK on February 3rd.
Co-produced by Peter Katis, (The National, Frightened Rabbit, Interpol) this epic new track follows the release of their much acclaimed debut album 'Rise Ye Sunken Ships' that depicted honest tales of tragedy from a band who still wear their hearts on their sleeves:
"Augustines are a very lucky bunch. We are only here because of our fans, " explains Billy McCarthy. "There's a great saying in America: 'Dance with who brung ya.' To me it means stick with who got you where you are. This song is about the realization that now is the time. Gone are the days of wandering around waiting for that right time. There is no right time, so go - ya got nothing to lose but your head."
It was at Shepherd's Bush Empire last November when Augustines played their last UK show. That night, most of the crowd that packed into the sold-out venue lost their heads watching one of the most gratuitous live performances ever seen. On January 21st, Augustines will return to The Lexington, (a venue in London where they started their UK career) to play an intimate set for those keen to hear tracks from their forthcoming new album scheduled for release in 2014.
Look out for "Nothing to Lose but Your Head" with B-side "Ballad of a Patient Man" available on limited edition 7" vinyl and digitally on iTunes.
Augustines are:
Billy McCarthy – vox/guitar, Eric Sanderson, bass, vocals/keys and Rob Allen on drums.
