Overview
White Stripes and Franz set to play Australasian festival
Franz Ferdinand, Iggy Pop and The Stooges and the White Stripes are all among the first names to be announced for the 2006 Australasian Big Day Out.
The Magic Numbers, Kings of Leon, The Mars Volta, Soulwax, Sleater-Kinney and AFI are all also joining the festival, which travels around New Zealand and Australia between January 20 and February 5 next year.
Hotly tipped newcomers Cut Copy and The Grates have also been signed-up for the shows in Australia.
Dates for the 2006 Big Day Out are as follows:
Auckland Ericsson Stadium (January 20)
Gold Coast Parklands (22)
Sydney Showground (26)
Melbourne Princes Park (29)
Adelaide Royal Showground (February 3)
Perth Claremont Showgrounds (5)
