The 51-year-old, who quit American Idol to become a judge on the new show, has claimed he will 'die trying' to be the most watched singing competition.
He told US website TMZ.com: 'You don't compete for the silver or the bronze, you may not get the gold, but you die trying. It is definitely going to be better than the other shows.'
