'X Factor' Confirms Khloe Kardashian, Mario Lopez As Co-Hosts

After months of rumors, Fox confirmed Tuesday (October 16) that Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez will co-host "The X Factor" when its live shows kick off in November.

In a statement to MTV News, show co-creator Simon Cowell acknowledged that the news doesn't come as a surprise. "The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," Cowell said. "Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier."

The two new hosts were quick to express their excitement about the new gigs and working with Cowell and company.

"I'm so thrilled to become a part of the 'X Factor' family," Odom said. "I've been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It's going to be so much fun!"

"I'm very excited to be joining the 'X Factor' team," Lopez echoed. "I love the show, and I've been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we'll be a great team and have a blast."

The "judges' homes" episodes, featuring Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid whittling down their respective groups of singers, continue Wednesday night. The live episodes, helmed by the two new judges, won't start until Thursday, November 1.

Lopez is no stranger to hosting gigs, as he anchors the entertainment news show "Extra" as well as MTV's own "America's Best Dance Crew." Kardashian, on the other hand, is known in the reality-TV world with her family's hit series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and its many spin-offs but has limited on-camera hosting experience, though she has hosted two local radio programs in the past, one in Miami and one in Dallas.
