'X Factor' finalists stay at Number One with 'Heroes'

The X Factor finalists have maintained the top spot in the UK singles chart today (December 5) with their cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes'.

The single, sales of which are raising money for the Help For Heroes charity, remains at Number One for a second week.

Elsewhere in the Top Ten Rihanna features on three singles - her former chart topper 'Only Girl (In The World)', currently at Number Seven, 'What's My Name' featuring Drake a place below and David Guetta's new single 'Who's That Chick', which also features the 'Umbrella' singer.

Such a feat has only been achieved previously by three other acts.

Coldplay are in at 18 with their comeback festive single 'Christmas Lights' and Radiohead enjoyed a sales spike at 39 with their 1992 debut single 'Creep' after former X Factor contestant Wagner performed the track on the show.

In the Albums Chart, Take That's 'Progress' stays at the top for the third week running despite stiff competition from Olly Murs' self-titled debut.

The band now have a career tally of 52 weeks at Number One in the UK's Official Singles and Albums Chart together.

Elsewhere, Bruce Springsteen is in at 35 with his greatest hits 'The Collection 1973-84'.
