At least they have Thanksgiving leftovers waiting for them at home!
On Thursday's "X Factor" results show, two members of Britney Spears' team were sent home before the turkey had even cooled down. Arin Ray was the first victim of the double-elimination episode, while Beatrice Miller went head-to-head with CeCe Frey before following her teammate out the door.
"I think you should just take this as a learning experience," Spears told Ray when he got the boot. "This isn't the last time we're going to hear from you."
Unlike Ray, Frey and Miller had the opportunity to sing for their lives when they were revealed as the other pair in this week's bottom three. Demi Lovato's group member Frey has been in the bottom before, so she came out kicking and screaming with Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You." Britney's mentee, however, let the tears flow during her emotional performance of Dido's "White Flag."
When the vote went to the judges, Spears and Lovato obviously stuck with their contestants, so it was in L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell's hands — and they both opted to send the 13-year-old Miller packing. Cowell even pointed to Miller's uncontrollable tears as the reason he opted to send her home, saying she just wasn't ready.
"Sweetheart, you are so young and you have so far to go, and this is just the beginning for you," Spears told the sobbing singer. "The song you sang tonight was excruciatingly hard, and you're a true star in my eyes and you always will be."
Miller had dedicated her performance the night before to her younger sisters, and she was thinking about them after she got the bad news: "I just want to tell my sisters that I love them and I want to say I'm sorry."
Cher Lloyd made a triumphant return to the world of "X Factor," performing her new single "Oath" with fellow femcee Becky G. The U.K.-bred pop star hit the stage in a yellow sequined tuxedo shirt with fringed snakeskin shorts and brought her spitfire spirit and high-energy choreography to the results show. Though Lloyd finished in fourth place on the seventh season of the U.K. "X Factor," she's found success since the show, including the U.S. radio hit "Want U Back."
Since the show first revealed the full leaderboard two weeks ago, country singer Tate Stevens has held the top spot, but this week saw the first shakeup, with Carly Rose Sonenclar moving to #1. Here's how America's vote shook out:
1. Carly Rose Sonenclar
2. Tate Stevens
3. Vino Alan
4. Emblem 3
5. Diamond White
6. Paige Thomas
7. Fifth Harmony
8. CeCe Frey
