X Factor winner Matt Cardle has apologised to Biffy Clyro fans for covering their track 'Many Of Horror'.
Cardle, who is expected to go to Number One in the UK singles chart with the cover later today (December 19), justified his cover by saying the original is a "very credible song", reports BBC News.
"I leapt at the chance to do it because it's not your average winner's song. It's not cheesy and I'm sorry if I've ruined it for people, but it's credible."
Cardle, who has renamed the track 'When We Collide', added: "I understand why there will be a backlash, but give me a break."
Biffy Clyro have also waded into the debate about the cover, with drummer Ben Johnston saying he finds Cardle's cover "surreal".
