Adam Ant is planning a comeback tour.
The 'Prince Charming' singer – who spent a year in psychiatric care after being sectioned in 2003 – has put his health problems behind him, slimmed down and feels "reborn", thanks to new girlfriend Clare.
He said: "I've been hitting the gym and walking a lot. I feel great, better than I have in years. Clare has also been making sure I eat only the finest, healthy food."
At his lowest point, 54-year-old Adam – real name Stuart Goddard – was arrested for waving an imitation pistol at pub goers in 2002 but now insists he is back from the brink and ready to thank his fans for their support with a run of shows.
A source said: "He has been through so much but gradually he's been getting back on his feet, thanks to the support he's been given in his personal life and by his devoted army of fans. Nothing's been set in stone in terms of dates but there are meetings going on at present to plan shows.
"It's undeniable he's looking amazing at the moment if you think about where he was only as few years ago."
The twice-divorced star shot to fame with his group Adam and the Ants in 1980.
Following a string of hits, the group disbanded in 1982 and Adam went on to enjoy a successful solo career before turning to acting in 1985. He later failed in several bids to relaunch his music career.
He was awarded the Icon accolade at the Q Awards last October.
