Amanda Seyfried admits she`s terrified of fairytales

The actress is taking on the lead role of Valerie in the new film by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke.

According to UK newspaper Evening Standard, Seyfried said: 'The original tale is pretty scary. I couldn't deal with that when I was young.

'I was pretty sensitive as a child and I stayed away from all those fairy tales 'cause they were all set in the dark forest somewhere far away.'

The movie sees a village start to get suspicious with the locals when Seyfried's character Valerie's sister is killed.
