'The critics were tough,' said Hathaway, 28. 'They called it the worst show ever. I think that qualifies as tough,' she laughed.
The Get Real actress went on to say that there were some people who liked her and James Franco's performance.
'I try to think about the Oscars in several ways now,' she said on US morning show The Today Show.
'There was the critical reaction, which was awful, and then there is the people who have been coming up to me afterwards who stop and say 'I thought it was fantastic. I watched it with my family and we loved it'. I am very grateful to those people,' added Hathaway who continued to say that she greatly enjoyed being the youngest ever host of the Academy Awards.
'I got to walk out and see all those people and I will always have that and be able to tell my grandkids about it hopefully,' she said.
'Would you do it again?' asked host Matt Lauer.
'Mmmmm, why not, I don't know, maybe not,' said Hathaway, grinning.
The Brokeback Mountain actress is currently starring in the animated movie Rio where she plays a feisty Blue Macaw parrot called Jewel.
