Anne Hathaway: I wish I was tougher

The actress’ character in the romantic drama, Maggie Murdock, is fearless and confident when put in difficult situations.

Maggie, who has early-onset Parkinson’s disease, often loses her temper and struggles to have a relationship with Jamie Randall, played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

But Anne thinks acquiring some of that feistiness in real life would help her and she enjoyed portraying a character with those traits in the movie.

“I wish I had some of Maggie’s toughness and temper. I wish I was more of a confrontational person like her,” Anne told Cover Media. “I had a lot of fun playing that.”

The 28-year-old star admits she is far too easy-going away from the cameras. However, Anne joked that her star sign traditionally means any inflammatory behaviour will get a hostile reaction from her if she is pushed to her limit.

“I’m very diplomatic although I am Scorpio so don’t cross me,” she laughed.
