Ariana Grande has apparently caught the eye of Steven Spielberg with her incredible celebrity impressions.
The 22-year-old singer first showcased her ability to mimic others when she appeared on the Wheel of Musical Impressions segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live back in March 2015, turning her attention to Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion among others.
Her hosting of Saturday Night Live (SNL) earlier this month (Mar16) saw her break out her impression skills once again, with Jennifer Lawrence, Britney Spears and Whitney Houston on the agenda. She also perfectly mimicked late singer Judy Garland in a sketch cut from the show that was later released online.
Ariana's skills wowed her fans worldwide on SNL, and attracted the attention of one person in particular - director Steven Spielberg.
According to the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, movie legend Steven sent SNL producer Lorne Michaels a text message after Ariana's show - praising the singer's confident and talented performance.
While her focus has more recently been on music, Ariana actually first shot to fame through her role in Nickelodeon series Victorious. She starred in the show from 2010 to 2013, and then reprised her role as Cat Valentine in the spinoff Sam & Cat from 2013 to 2014. She has returned to the television world over the past couple of years in Fox television series Scream Queens last year, albeit briefly before her character was unceremoniously killed off. She also had a small cameo role in comedy movie Zoolander 2.
Her SNL hosting has apparently led to a host of new offers to appear on the small and silver screens, but Ariana's priorities are said to lay with her singing.
"She's had plenty of acting offers, but many more people are starting to talk since she was on SNL. But she's all about her music right now," a source told Page Six.
