Ariana Grande: ‘I don’t take out the trash anymore’

Ariana Grande's burgeoning career means she has little time for domestic chores.

As one may expect, the Dangerous Woman singer isn't exactly running around with a vacuum cleaner very often these days. But the superstar, who has weathered rumours of diva-like behaviour, doesn't think it's anything to be proud of.

"I'm embarrassed, but I can't remember the last time I did the dishes or took out the trash," she confessed during an interview with Britain's Heat magazine. "I'm on the road so much and in hotels all the time, I guess one of the perks of travelling so much for work is you get out of chores."

The 22-year-old former child star is riding the crest of a wave of popularity, and has become one of pop's brightest stars. She has a new single out, Into You, and recently scored her first number one album in the U.K.

During her time in the spotlight, Ariana has frequently found herself targeted by trolls criticising her for expressing her sexuality, but insists she doesn't back down from a fight easily.

"I think it's really important to stick up for what you believe in and what's right," she explained. "I am so proud of myself for realising that I am strong enough to take control and feel comfortable with who I am. I want others to feel that same way too."

In fact, Ariana didn't need to look too far for another young celebrity who has also experienced similar "shaming". And, in fact, she feels inspired by singer Miley Cyrus' attitude to life.

"I love Miley's confidence and how she tries new things all the time," she smiled. "Like her, I'm really trying to push myself to try new things."

But that doesn't mean Ariana ignores what's going on in the world around her, and she tweeted her despair at the violence in the world after the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, last Sunday (12Jun16).

"so. much. violence. it hurts my heart. sending as much Light and love as I possibly can to anyone and everyone I can possibly reach," she posted.
