Ariana Grande wishes she could take her loved-ones' fears "away".
The 20-year-old singer is known for being open with her fans on Twitter and often lets them know how grateful she is for their support.
Now in a series of heartfelt messages she's let them in to some personal thoughts and has hinted she's trying to help someone close to her through a tough time.
"i will never understand why some things have to happen the way they do," she posted on the social networking site.
"do you ever wish you could take someone else's pain or fear away and just go through it for them instead :(
"I can't sleep again and idk what else to say.... hi and I love you guys (sic)."
It could be that Ariana is helping The Wanted's Nathan Sykes over the pain of losing his grandfather.
The 20-year-old boyband star started dating Ariana in August, but she seemed to confirm they had broken up last week.
According to a radio station, she claimed they are just "good friends", although neither of the pair has backed up the story.
Last week Nathan shared that his granddad had passed away on Twitter, adding a touching black and white photo of himself with his late relative on Instagram.
Following up her cryptic messages, Ariana apologised to her followers, explaining that she usually has a friend stay over who she can pour her heart out too.
"I'm so sorry I hate being all complainyy on twitter but Alexa usually sleeps over and she's not here so tonight you get to deal with me. Ily (sic)," she wrote.
Ariana seemed in higher spirits last week, when she performed at Y100's Jingle Ball.
The star posed on the red carpet in a gorgeous flowery dress for the event.
