The 31-year-old music maestro is best known for being the guitarist of Good Charlotte, the rock group he founded with identical twin brother, Joel Madden.
Benji is now engaging himself in politics, and has revealed he has high hopes for movie heartthrob George in future political elections.
“George Clooney should run4president 1 day (sic),” mused the star on his Twitter account.
Benji thinks 49-year-old George is trustworthy enough to run America, although he is happy with current leader, President Barack Obama, for the moment. He teased that in years to come though, rather than focusing on big names in American politics such as Sarah Palin, George will be the one to watch.
“I trust GC. He's the man. Def gets my vote. Give Obama 4more yrs then enter President Clooney (sic),” added Benji.
Handsome George is famously interested in politics, and has used his role as a celebrity to bring various issues to the fore, notably in raising awareness of the Darfur conflict, and fundraising for victims of the Haiti earthquake which occurred earlier this year. He wouldn’t be the first Hollywood actor to make the move into political affairs either - Arnold Schwarzenegger famously swapped movie stardom for administration when he became Governor of California in 2003.
