Benji Madden: I should’ve been R&B star

Benji Madden thinks he's missed his calling as an R&B singer.

The American star is in rock band Good Charlotte alongside his twin brother Joel, Paul Thomas and Billy Martin. Although he loves thrashing his guitar on stage with his bandmates, Benji wonders whether a smoother type of music would actually have suited his voice better.

"On some boyz2men sh!t right now, it's sooo haaaarrrrrdddd to sayyyyy good byeeeeeeee. With perfect pitch. Damn I shoulda been a R&B singer (sic)," he wrote on Twitter.

Benji's fans appeared thrilled to hear he might be branching out.

Several were quick to comment on his suggestion, stating they would love to hear him peforming more soulful tunes.

"if u were I'd so listen to your songs!" one wrote on the social networking website.

Another dared Benji to take things a step further. Ryan Villanueva suggested a duet between the rocker and an R&B group was the way forward.

"why not do a collab with boyz2men or any other R&B artists? That would surely be sweet :) (sic)," he wrote.
