Benji Madden avoided a speeding ticket by giving the police his twin brother Joel's license.
The cheeky Good Charlotte singer often gets mistaken for his identical twin, who is also in the band.
The 33-year-old doesn't mind though as he has been known to use it to his advantage.
"I've gotten pulled over by the police before and I had Joel's license on me," Benji revealed to Australian radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O.
"If I had gotten one more ticket they would have taken my license, because I speed. I'm getting better, but I was one ticket away from getting my license taken for two years so I gave them Joel's and he got the ticket!"
Joel took a seat on the judging panel of The Voice Australia this year, where he mentored the show's finalist, Sarah De Bono.
When Benji visits Australia he often gets mistaken for his sibling – and usually plays along with it.
"Since Joel has done The Voice, every time I come to Australia everyone thinks I'm Joel! I don't have the heart to tell them the truth," he confessed.
"Because it's grandmas and stuff, I just kind of go, 'Yeah, The Voice was great, I loved it!' So I just go along with it! I don't want to be a jerk and say, 'Hey listen old lady, I'm not Joel!' I don't want to break their hearts, they would be so upset when they find out they're not meeting Joel!"
Good Charlotte will be headlining Australia's Fat As Butter Festival this month.
