Benji Madden: I want to start a boyband

Benji Madden wants to start a boyband with brother Joel and Pete Wentz in order to break into the Asian music scene.

The American rock musician came up with the idea while watching MTV Asia. A variety of boybands regularly top the charts in countries in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Benji has joked that he's found a niche for him, Joel and Pete.

"Watchin MTV ASIA. I feel like me @joelmadden… @petewentz could start a boyband&be The biggest thing in Asia music. Who's in (sic)," he wrote on his personal Twitter page.

Benji and Joel are famed for founding rock band Good Charlotte, while Pete is best known for being in American rock band Fall Out Boy.

The Madden brothers like taking to Twitter to muse about their lives. Joel – who is married to Nicole Richie - recently tweeted that reality television is just as bad for his brain as drugs.

"I dunno whats worse for my brain drugs or reality tv. I don't want 2 do either. But My wife makes me watch which makes me want 2 do drugs (sic)," he wrote.
