The 27-year-old left the talent competition last week after Fox network bosses feared her accent was too strong for US audiences - and now her friend and new UK X Factor judge Gary Barlow has revealed she is doing well.
The Take That singer told British newspaper the Daily Mail: 'Cheryl is a very good friend of mine. I'm sending support.
'I've spoken to her and I think she has turned a corner now. I would say she is going places.'
Barlow, 40, added: 'I'm sad that she's gone, but do you know what, she will move on to something else. I know her quite well and she is an ambitious girl, she's very together and she'll get over this, no question.'
