Cheryl, who is said to be in talks to be joining Simon Cowell over in the US for the talent competition, is worried viewers might not understand her North-east accent.
The Promise This singer told British Metro newspaper: 'It would be a fantastic opportunity if they can get past my accent.'
The 27-year old Girls Aloud star added: 'If they think I am the person for the job, then watch this space.'
Cole performed her new single Promise This on this week's X Factor results show but she has been criticised for miming it.
