The singer is set to be back in the studio with the rest of the band by January, and although there had been concerns that Cole might not be able to find the time because of her solo career, she apparently insisted she knows where her loyalties lie.
An insider said Cole told friends: “I’d never go back on my word. I always honour my commitments, unlike some people I know. I keep my promises.”
The source added: “Everyone was worried that Cheryl would be the one that derailed the 2012 comeback. But she was adamant she would never turn her back on the band. She is an extremely loyal person which is why it hurt 100 times more when Simon messed her about so badly. She thought he was someone she could trust through thick and thin.”
The report added that Cole is now considering joining forces with Cowell’s nemesis, American Idol boss Simon Fuller, who manages David and Victoria Beckham, Andy Murray and Lewis Hamilton.
He is apparently keen to her sign up to his company XIX Entertainment after she was dropped from the US X-Factor earlier this month.
