Overview
Cheryl Cole is in talks with Simon Cowell over a return to The X Factor UK.
The pair are said to be trying to work out a deal after Cole was dropped as a judge on the forthcoming X Factor USA. She had given up a role on the UK edition to join the American show.
Former singer Sinitta, a friend of Cowell's, ITV1's Daybreak: "All I can say is Simon and Cheryl are very close and I believe that they are in talks trying to sort something out and as soon as they agree on something then we'll hear about it."
Cole was reportedly dropped from the US show over fears that Americans would struggle to understand her Northern accent.
The judging panel for the UK X Factor has yet to be announced.
