Cheryl, 27, told X Magazine, "I cringe. I cringe. It's cringeworthy. I can't take that on board. If I took all of that on board, I'd go crazy. If I took that on board, and then the negative stuff on board, where would I be?"
The newly-single singer said that she tries not to read anything written about her in the press, and that she even has moments where she doesn't want to be famous any more.
"I want to be a performer. I want to make music," she said. "And it's amazing that I can help other people. I've got a good life.
"All the bad stuff that comes with it, sometimes I just want to run away and hide. But there's also really high highs, where I realise this is what it's all about."
