Cheryl Cole claims she isn't playing a "silly game" with her estranged husband Ashley Cole by removing her wedding ring.
The Girls Aloud singer - who recently separated from her soccer player husband Ashley Cole after it was revealed he had cheated on her with several different women - has denied suggestions she has deliberately been photographed wearing different rings or no band on her wedding finger just to antagonise him.
She said: "I just wanted to clear up the stories about whether I am wearing my wedding ring in my own words as this has been going on for too long and is getting boring. It is not some silly game I am playing. That is not me and not my style."
The 26-year-old British star was pictured flashing a gold knotted fashion ring on her wedding finger in place of the diamond ring Ashley bought her as she left the NRJ radio studios in Paris earlier today (25.03.10), but has claimed she was actually "moving the hair" out of her face.
She said: "There have been many occasions where I have not worn my wedding ring, many of those when I was pictured with Ashley. I find it crazy that people would think I use this as some sort of message. "Believe it or not Ashley is fully aware of any situation going on in our personal lives. He does not need to see a picture of me moving the hair out of my face to explain anything. Please drop it."
Earlier this year, before Ashley's infidelities were revealed, Cheryl insisted she only ever took her wedding ring off to "make a fashion statement".
The 'Parachute' singer said at the time: "Do people really think I'm going to have an argument and take my ring off? It was a fashion statement more than a marriage statement.
"As my wedding ring is yellow it doesn't go with everything."
Ashley, 29, and Cheryl battled to save their relationship in 2008 when it was revealed the sportsman had a one-night stand with hairdresser Aimee Walton.
