According to the News of the World, the 27-year-old singer will be offered a role as a judge on the US X-Factor and is planning to use it to kick-start her American music career.
A source told the newspaper, 'A very detailed strategy to make sure Cheryl is a success is in place. Within a year she's expected to be one of the biggest names in America.
'Every major magazine and TV channel is desperate to be involved with her. They know she's going to become a major pop-culture phenomenon as soon as the deal is announced.'
Cole is believed to be staying at American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's mansion while she finds her feet in Los Angeles.
The source added, 'Who better to go to for tips on being a judge than Ryan? He's helped make American Idol a huge, huge show.'
