Christina Aguilera was left speechless after the birth of her daughter.
The 34-year-old singer became a mother for a second time when she and fiancé Matthew Rutler welcomed their little girl Summer Rain last August, who joins Christina's son Max from her marriage to Jordan Bratman.
Showing off her bundle of joy for the first time in a spread for People magazine, Christina recalls the moment she clapped eyes on the tot.
"I was speechless. She was literally like an angel... We had an immediate calm bond, and I felt unexplainably connected to her and her spirit," she gushed.
"Her smile lights up a room and I know it melts mama and daddy's hearts. She laughs a ton and is easy to make smile. She just wants to be where the action is!"
After spending time at home with her newborn Christina is preparing to return to work. Her vocals haven't gone unnoticed during her break as she picked up the best pop duo/group performance Grammy at Sunday's award show for her track Say Something with A Great Big World.
On top of this she's working on new music and resuming her role as judge on NBC's The Voice, which hits TV screens later this month.
"It's definitely not easy juggling work and motherhood, as being a parent is a full-time job within itself," she added. "You just have to make it work for you. My life has so many different moving parts, but my kids are the center focal piece, and everything else shifts around them.
"It's hard to know you won't have all the right answers at the right times. And 'mom guilt' is the worst thing ever. But you have to surrender and let go, knowing you're doing your very best and no one loves them, or wants what's best for them more than you."
No matter what happens though, Christina's kids will always come first as they're the "center of her universe".
