LeRoi Moore of Dave Matthews Band Dies Aged 46.
LeRoi Moore, sax player for the Dave Matthews Band, has lost his struggle for life after being involved in a car crash.
An announcement at the Matthews Band website reads, "We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program".
The accident occurred near Moore's farm in Charlottesville, Virginia.
At Matthews show in Los Angeles tonight, he told the audience "We all had some bad news today. Our good friend LeRoi Moore passed on and gave his ghost up today and we will miss him forever."
Gary Lee "LeRoi" Moore was a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band.
He co-wrote the songs 'Too Much' and 'Stay' and was already a well-known jazz musician before joining Matthews in 1991.
