The 27th annual California Music Awards (the Cammies) took place last Sunday, June 6, and No Doubt's Gwen Stefani was voted Best Female Vocalist. Blink-182 won for Outstanding album and The Black Eyed Peas received Outstanding Hip-Hop Album.
Punk rock band Green Day dominated the event, taking home awards for Best Male Vocalist (Billie Joe Armstrong), Best Bassist (Mike Dirnt), Best Drummer (Tre Cool), and Most Downloaded Song for the group's cover of "I Fought the Law."
Other winners included Metallica's Kirk Hammett for Best Guitarist and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who were named California Favorite.
