Gwen Stefani says that it was "a little weird" that she still lived at home when she started dating now husband Gavin Rossdale.
The couple tied the knot in 2002 after several years of dating but she told Harper's Bazaar that they had an unconventional courtship.
Gwen's band No Doubt was the opening act for Gavin's rock band Bush but when not on tour she would return to her parent's home in Anaheim, California.
"When I started dating Gavin, I was still at my parents' house," she told the publication. "Yeah, it's a little weird."
The 42-year-old mother-of-two was 26 when she met the British hunk.
Gwen added that songs on album Tragic Kingdom like Don't Speak, Sunday Morning and Hey You were a therapeutic release for her to write as she dealt with a prior break up.
"Let me tell you how that first record happened," she shared. "My boyfriend had broken up with me and I was devastated, so I wrote all these songs."
"I didn't even know I could write. I was just a girl, who was in love with a guy, then suddenly I'm a songwriter, and I've gotten you back so good."
