Hunter Hayes has joked that "maybe" the next Taylor Swift song will be about him.
Taylor is well-known for writing songs about the men in her life, famously featuring a track about ex John Mayer on her Speak Now album.
Hunter was the opening act for the 22-year-old's Speak Now tour and joked he can't be sure he's not featured on Taylor's latest album, Red.
"That's funny. No, probably not," Hunter told MTV News. "No, I didn't hear anything. I didn't hear any songs about opening acts, so I would say no. I would guess no. Maybe not, maybe the next one."
Hunter has had a successful year. He has won a wealth of awards ranging from a Teen Choice Awards surfboard to a CMA Award for New Artist of the Year. He's also winning music fans over with his self-titled debut album which was released last year. The Wanted singer explained how Taylor helped calm his nerves when he was a less experienced artist on their tour.
"She's cool; she's super cool," Hunter gushed. "I remember the first night I opened for her, it was my first time playing in an arena, like doing a show in an arena, and I was acoustic, so you can imagine how nerve racking it is to try and fill a room with 30,000 people or 20[,000] whatever with acoustic instruments on the stage by yourself, you know, but it was cool. We did the show, I was nervous as like butterflies and everything. I get off stage and I see this tall shadow and I'm like 'Is that her?' She was really complimentary and turns out she had sat there and watched the whole show from stage side and I just thought that was really cool. That meant a lot to me."
