Hunter Hayes is a wanted man, but on Tuesday (February 5), he'll be with MTV News during "Live from the MTV Newsroom: Hunter Hayes."
The country star will take over MTV News to perform two live acoustics songs, "Somebody's Heartbreak" and his double-platinum hit single, "Wanted," in front of a small group of his biggest fans. In addition to taking the mic, Hayes will also sit down for an extended interview that will be streamed live at 7:00 p.m. ET on MTV.com.
Fans at home can also get in on the action and interact with Hayes by submitting questions via Twitter using the @MTVNews handle and hashtag #AskHunter.
It's been a whirlwind of a year for Hayes, who is an accomplished singer/songwriter and a 2013 MTV Artist to Watch. Last year, Hayes became the youngest solo male act to top the Hot Country songs with "Wanted," landed the gig as the opening act on Carrie Underwood's Blown Away Tour and has been nominated for three Grammys, including the coveted award for Best New Artist.
"I am really pumped. I'm really excited. I'm honored to be representing, if you will, in the Best New Artist category," Hayes told CMT in December. "That's so awesome. There's a lot of cats in that category I'm a fan of... a little intimidated. It's unbelievable. I'm so grateful, so thankful, so blessed."
Hayes is up against Fun., Frank Ocean, Alabama Shakes and The Lumineers in the Best New Artist category, while also being nominated for two country music awards, including Best Solo Performance, where he faces off against tourmate Underwood.
"I came to Nashville to be part of that community and a hopeful dreamer," Hayes said. "I still have crazy dreams and they come true every now and then you get lucky and they come true."
Don't miss "Live From the MTV Newsroom: Hunter Hayes" Tuesday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m. ET on MTV.com.
