Robbie Williams has spoken of his ambition to become the world's greatest pop star in 2012.
The Take That star releases his ninth studio album next year and he's hoping that this, in addition to a world tour, will see him acheive that aim.
He told The Mirror: "It's very important for me to feel like I am competing, more so than ever. I haven't wanted to go out there and be the best in the world since 2005.
"I am looking forward to going out on tour, doing promo and kicking arse. Someone has to be the best in the world right now and I want to aim for that, and if I don't make it I want to be somewhere near it. This year will be the best year of my life."
Williams confirmed in October that his new album would be released under the terms of a new deal with label Universal.
