The Hardest Working Man In Show Business didn't quite live up to that nickname on Saturday night at the Molson Amphitheatre, Toronto.
But James Brown came awfully close.
Consider that The Godfather of Soul -- he's anywhere from 71 to 76 years old, depending on which birth date you believe -- only performed a 75-minute set with no encore.
And that the first 10 minutes of the show were an extended intro with his master of ceremonies (of 30 years) saying things like: "Are you ready for some super-dynamite soul?!"
Or that his impressive 17-piece outfit -- The Generals Of Soul band, three women backup singers known collectively as Bittersweet and two young, scantily clad female dancers -- took over either on lead vocals on songs like Aretha Franklin's Respect and Sam and Dave's Soul Man or performed extended solos several times throughout the night.
Still, a soul legend is a soul legend, and on that front, Brown did not disappoint.document.write(unescape("
