Julian Casablancas hints that Strokes may never tour again

Julian Casablancas has hinted that their may be no more live tours from The Strokes in the future, stating "a tour is a great way to destroy a band".

The frontman made the remarks in a recent interview with GQ, when promoting Tyranny, his forthcoming second solo album with The Voidz.

When asked about the band's current state, he explained that the group "wasn't so equal, but it was the illusion of equal, so I think it fucked with everything" before adding: "A band is a great way to destroy a friendship, and a tour's a great way to destroy a band."

The interview wasn't all negative though, with Casablancas seeming pleased with The Strokes' recent live shows and the prospect of new material, saying "It was cool and we played some shows and the vibe is finally… I don't know if we ever had that good a working friendship foundation [in our] work relationship, but now we finally have that. We'll always have the creative vibe."

Julian Casablancas will release his second solo album Tyranny on 13 October with new backing band The Voidz.
