The 23-year-old ballroom dancer left the show two years ago to pursue a film career but celebrated her leading role in Footloose with a special performance on the show that made her famous.
Speaking ahead of her return, she told People magazine, 'I definitely got a little emotional.
'I don't think I've ever been this nervous to do the show. I'm a little rusty.'
She performed one dance with her Footloose co-star Kenny Wormald, and one with older brother and fellow ballroom pro Derek Hough, who said they decided to go all out on their choreography.
'I love dancing with Julianne because we're very similar in our minds, what we want to do and what we think looks good,' Derek explained. 'The producers said, 'Don't kill yourselves. Just go out and do a nice little dance,' and we're like, 'No, no, we're not going to phone it in'.'
'Julianne is an absolute superstar,' he added. 'This girl is incredible. I'm so proud of her.'
