Daniel Edwards, the ultra-odd artist best known for sculpting Britney Spears giving birth on a bear-skin rug, has emerged with a curious life-size piece featuring Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. The teen couple (he's 17, she's 19) are naked in the statue, titled "Justin and Selena as One," and in it they share a leg. Share a leg.
Covering their particulars are a maple leaf (he's Canadian) and a lone star (she's Texan). In front of them, acting as their tour guides into bizarro world perhaps, are a Canada goose and a Texas armadillo.
Edwards says the artwork "represents both Canadian exceptionalism and Texas-American exceptionalism." He also has said that his goal was to make a deep comment on the exploitation of teen stars.
The sculpture will be housed at New Fine Arts, which sounds harmless but is actually a Dallas-area porn shop. "Finally, a retail establishment that makes me proud of Dallas," wrote the store's lone reviewer on its Yelp entry.
Aside from Bronze Biebs and Spears, Edwards has made waves crafting Angelina Jolie double breastfeeding her twins, a dead Paris Hilton and the Octomom as an actual Octopus. Check out a gallery of many of these artworks by clicking on the image above.
