Sure, now Justin Bieber is a world-famous pop star who never has to worry about where his next meal, or next private jet flight is going to come from. But he can still very clearly remember what it feels like to not have enough cash to go see his favorite singer in concert.
Which is why he's got a plan to make sure that every one of his fans can go see every tour he ever embarks on ... forever.
"What we want to do is ... the concerts sell out so quickly, which has really been a blessing. But Justin and I were talking about how there's so many kids out there who are in a position like he was growing up who don't have a lot of money, who aren't able to go to concerts," Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, told. "He wants to put each one of his tours for the rest of his career in theaters for at least one weekend so that kid can to the theater, pay their $10 and have that experience."
Pictures emerged recently of a disclaimer at a Bieber concert that made it seem like he was prepping a follow up to his smash 3-D concert film "Never Say Never." And while that Jon Chu-directed documentary smashed box office records with grosses of nearly $100 million worldwide, Braun said the as-yet-unscheduled next film will be less a movie than a straight-ahead concert film.
"This is more about just giving them the concert and letting all the kids around the world for one weekend go to the concert together and then go back home and go online and share their experience," Braun said.
With Chu working on editing the film now, Braun said he wasn't sure when the movie will hit theaters. While fans wait to see Bieber on the big screen again, they can see him a bit smaller this weekend when he's the musical guest and host on "Saturday Night Live."
