Justin Bieber has hit back at The Black Keys' Patrick Carney saying he should be "slapped around".
The teenage heartthrob didn't receive any Grammy nods this year, while Patrick and his band scooped four Grammys at the bash on Sunday.
When asked if it was right the 18-year-old star was snubbed, Patrick responded with a condescending remark, which Justin has now countered with a tweet.
"the black keys drummer should be slapped around haha (sic)," he posted on his Twitter page.
TMZ reported yesterday they had stopped Patrick outside the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles, where they asked him about the young singer.
"He's rich, right?" the musician countered.
"Grammys are for like music, not for money...and he's making a lot of money. He should be happy."
Patrick and bandmate Dan Auerbach picked up gongs for best rock performance, best rock song, best rock album and producer of the year for Dan.
Justin was nominated in the best new artist and best pop vocal album categories in 2011, but is yet to win a coveted Grammy prize.
Big winners at the ceremony on Sunday included British band Mumford & Sons, Kelly Clarkson and Adele.
