Justin Bieber insists his new music promo is "more mature" than his previous ones.
The 18-year-old singer unveiled the clip for his hit single Boyfriend on Thursday. The track is the first release from his upcoming album Believe.
The footage shows the Canadian star driving a sports car, cuddling up to a beautiful girl and dancing with his friends at a rooftop party in Los Angeles.
Justin, who was discovered at the age of 14, feels the video shows him in a grown up light.
"I kind of switched it up from all the teasers," he told MTV about what fans saw of the promo before its premiere.
"I switched up the whole video on them, and really, I think it's super cool. I wanted to do something a little bit more mature."
The pop sensation dons a varsity jacket and gold sneakers in the clip. Justin laughed at the audience's reaction to his shoes.
"I did pick out those swaggy gold shoes," he laughed. "They spray-painted them gold. That's what I'm going to do: I'm gonna start wearing gold shoes all the time."
The video shows off cool cars and Justin has his own personal collection at home. He owns a Range Rover, a Fisker and a smart car.
"It just helps me get from point A to point B. I call it my little 'swag car'," he said of the eco vehicle.
Justin also shared what he likes to do in his down time. He fools around with his friends when he's not making music.
"If I'm with my friends, we like to do regular stuff," he said. "We have this game where basically we hit each other in the balls."
Justin chose Boyfriend as the first release from his album because he believes it is a "song that most represented" him at the time. He also teased about his next offering.
"It's crazy, because even my next single after that is going to be better," he said.
