It's almost time for Justin Bieber to shout those famous words "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"
This weekend, the chart-topping pop star will handle double duty on "Saturday Night Live," serving as the night's host and musical guest. And, despite the threat of a blizzard named Nemo, Bieber is all ready to hit the famed Studio 8H in Rock Center for what he's dubbed "The Justin Bieber Show."
"up real early today for a LONG DAY of rehearsals. and now ablizzard is coming. no issue. Im Canadian," he tweeted Friday morning, as New York City braced for the snow storm. "i promise u...u r going to laugh. #BIEBERonSNL."
Bieber has been in town all week prepping for the gig. And after getting sick during rehearsals on Wednesday, manager Scooter Braun assures MTV News that he's all better after resting up.
"He's good. He had a bit of food poisoning the first day, but he pushed through and did the whole day. He went to sleep really early that night," Braun said. "He was really great [Wednesday] and [Thursday] was his first day doing skits."
Promos feature the Biebs with castmates Jason Sudeikis and Kenan Thompson and have already mocked his tween dream image and Bieber fever. And with so much speculation about Bieber, sources recently told The Huffington Post that nothing will be off limits: "Everything will be on the table: his relationships, the tabloids' stories about him, even the recent rumors that he tried pot. If the bit is funny, then it will be on the live show."
"SNL" tweeted out a photo of the singer on set with Thompson, practicing a sketch featuring a jukebox and a bow. So, it seems like anything is possible, maybe even a sketch Bieber cooked up on his own. Braun told us, "He definitely brought some of his own ideas."
This is hardly Bieber's first appearance on the show. He was the musical guest in April 2010 when appeared in a sketch with host Tina Fey. "It was fun, just acting [with host Tina Fey]," Bieber told at the time. "It was cool to get to be a part of 'SNL.' "
He also made a cameo in the 100th Lonely Island digital short last year where he unenthusiastically teased, "I was tricked into doing this. I don't endorse this song. No, no, no, no," while chaos erupted around him.
The show is still expected to tape Saturday night, even with the threat of winter storm Nemo in NYC. A rep for the show tells MTV News, "Standby tickets are going to be given out early — we are giving them out today, normally we would give out on Saturday at 7am."
