Justin Bieber is being sued by a paparazzo who claims his ribcage was battered by the teenage singer.
Justin has been embroiled in controversy for several months.
The 19-year-old Baby crooner is currently being investigated for reckless driving, as members of his gated community allege he was speeding around the neighbourhood at around 100mph.
He was also involved in a hit-and-run incident with a paparazzo outside the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, but was cleared of any wrongdoing last week.
TMZ reports photographer Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran has filed a civil suit against Justin for damages related to assault and battery. The snapper claims Justin "delivered a martial arts-type kick ... in the lower rib cage on the left side of his abdomen" at a shopping centre last year. Apparently while Justin and his then-girlfriend Selena Gomez were leaving The Commons in Calabasas, California, the star became enraged when he couldn't manoeuvre his Mercedes out of the parking lot through the paparazzi.
While Jose was shooting a picture, apparently Justin jumped out of his car and attacked him. According to the website the star then threw a punch and pushed the photographer against a parked car.
Apparently Selena came by minutes after the altercation to find her lost cell phone, delivering apologies to Jose for Justin's rash actions.
Jose's criminal charges against Justin were dismissed by the Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney's office last year.
Prosecutor Mara McIlvain claimed in a report there was "insufficient evidence for proof beyond a reasonable doubt" that Justin assaulted Jose.
Apparently medical doctors found the photographer's injuries "superficial" and there were no photographs of the scuffle even though there were other paparazzi on the scene at the time.
