Superstar diva, Katherine Jenkins OBE has announced a special concert this summer, appearing in Thetford Forest as part of the Forestry Commission's Forest Live concert calendar.
Katherine Jenkins is the world's most prolific classical crossover artist. In 2003 she signed the biggest-ever recording contract for a classical artist and has since become the premiere ambassador of bringing classical music to a mainstream audience. Her stratospheric rise made Katherine the fastest-selling mezzo-soprano ever.
To date, Katherine has released nine studio albums, all of which have sold in excess of seven million copies and gone platinum around the world. She has received numerous awards for her recordings, including two Classical BRITS for the coveted Album of the Year Award. .
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission, bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the concerts are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.
The concert will include a selection of Katherine Jenkins favourite works as well as classic proms repertoire. Katherine last played the venue to a capacity crowd in 2008, and commented on her forthcoming concert, "I thoroughly enjoyed my forest debut which was a little while ago now so I am delighted to be returning to Thetford Forest again in the summer. I hope to see everyone there!"
The concert announcement coincides with the news that Katherine has renewed her relationship with the world's No.1 Classic label, Decca Records - signing a deal which will see the nation's favourite songstress release her next album in the autumn of 2014.
