Classic FM has brought together the leading lights from the classical music world to create a new charity single. The single will be recorded on 9 October and released on 10 October to raise money for Global's Make Some Noise.
Global's Make Some Noise is a new national charity. For the first time, Global is uniting all its brands, Capital, Capital XTRA, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth, XFM and Gold, behind one cause, to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.
Solos from Katherine Jenkins OBE, Alexander Armstrong, Alfie Boe, Aled Jones, Miloš and other big names will complement the sounds of Sol3 Mio, Myleene Klass on the piano, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen on percussion and John Suchet on the trombone.
The latest singer to sign up is Laura Wright, fresh from writing and performing 'Invincible' at the Invictus Games.
Howard Goodall, presenter of Saturday Night at the Movies, and Classic FM's composer in residence will write the charity single. Julian Reynolds will conduct, collaborating with producer Anna Barry, who has worked with many big acts over the years and famously produced the official royal wedding album.
The charity single will be composed and recorded in Air Studios in North London, where students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance will form a mini-orchestra and choir.
Katherine Jenkins OBE said: "I have always been passionate about music. I am honoured to be able to use my passion to help others and raise money for Global's Make Some Noise."
All proceeds from the sale of the download will go to Global's Make Some Noise charity appeal. The money will support projects that help children and young people affected by illness, disability, bereavement or lack of opportunity, across the country.
